🐾 General Boarding Program for Dogs (Facility or In-Home)

Daily Schedule Example

6:30–7:00 AM – Morning Wake Up & Potty

  • All dogs go out right away.

  • Facility: supervised potty yards in groups or individually.

  • Home: quick backyard potty break or short walk.

7:30 AM – Breakfast

  • Fed individually (to prevent food guarding).

  • Water refreshed.

  • Potty immediately after eating.

8:00–9:30 AM – Morning Exercise

  • Facility: playgroups based on size/temperament OR structured yard time.

  • Home: walk or off-leash play in secure yard.

  • Mental enrichment: fetch, tug, scent games.

10:00–11:30 AM – Rest/Crate Time

  • Dogs rotate into crates or quiet rest areas.

  • Calming music or chews provided.

  • Important to prevent overstimulation.

12:00 PM – Midday Potty & Training/Play

  • Short potty trip.

  • Light training (sit, down, recall) or puzzle feeders.

  • Great time for individual attention (cuddles, grooming, brushing).

1:00–3:00 PM – Midday Rest

  • All dogs rest in crates, kennels, or designated calm zones.

  • Supervision continues but stimulation is minimal.

3:30–4:30 PM – Afternoon Walk/Playgroup

  • Facility: second round of playgroups or structured exercise.

  • Home: leashed walk or interactive play in yard.

  • Potty included.

5:30 PM – Dinner

  • Fed individually.

  • Potty break afterward.

6:00–7:00 PM – Wind-Down Activities

  • Enrichment toys, light training, or calm one-on-one play.

  • Dogs with higher energy may get a second short walk.

7:30–8:30 PM – Final Potty/Evening Session

  • Dogs go out in small groups or individually.

  • Calm activities only (avoid rough play before bedtime).

9:00–10:00 PM – Bedtime Routine

  • Final potty.

  • Into crates or sleeping areas with chews or comfort toys.

  • Lights down, soft music/white noise optional.

Key Facility Considerations

  • Grouping by size/temperament: small dogs, large dogs, seniors, and shy/anxious dogs may need separate spaces.

  • Staff-to-dog ratio: enough supervision during play.

  • Sanitation: potty areas cleaned frequently, bedding washed daily.

  • Emergency protocol: vet access, owner contacts, first-aid kits.

Key In-Home Boarding Considerations

  • Limit number of dogs (avoid overcrowding).

  • Stick to the dog’s home routine as much as possible.

  • Provide crate/rest spots for each dog (don’t rely only on free-roaming).

  • Supervise group play closely.

  • Adjust program to individual needs (puppies may need more potty trips, seniors need shorter walks).

āœ… This type of schedule works across all breeds and energy levels — you just scale duration/intensity:

  • High-energy breeds → longer walks, more enrichment.

  • Low-energy or seniors → shorter walks, more rest.

  • Puppies → extra potty trips & shorter play sessions.
